Cupcake A La Mode is the creation of Lisa Clark, Executive Pastry Chef, and her husband Daniel. Over the past few years, cupcakes have rocketed into the social stratosphere as the dessert of choice and Lisa and Daniel have decided to build a cafe around that concept.
Lisa left her full time job as a Customer Service Manager for a major bank corporation 4 years ago to be a stay home mother to her 3 children. Since baking is truly her passion, Lisa decided to put that passion to work for her! For the past 4 years she has been managing her home-based custom occasion cakes business in Kansas City. It is obvious in every cake she makes for her clients that she loves what she does. Daniel, her husband and co-owner of Cupcake A La Mode, has worked in the Hospitality Industry for 15 years. With a combined Customer Service Industry experience of 30 years between the two of them and Lisa's passion for baking the perefct cake for every occasion, they are destined for success!
Unlike many cupcakeries, Cupcake A La Mode will serve only chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. Paired with one of their signature, made-from-scratch buttercreams and delectable toppings, these chocolate and vanilla cakes immediately transform into something much more irresistable. Cupcake A La Mode will also serve blended coffees and teas, small custom occasion cakes and have a boutique style retail area as well.
Lisa and Daniel are taking a very popular concept and refining it. Cupcake A La Mode will not be focusing mostly on take-out but rather encouraging their customers to sit and relax with their gourmet cupcake and fabulous beverage in their boutique style cafe.
The first Cupcake A La Mode is due to open in Kansas City late Fall 2008 with plans for national expansion by 2010.
